my dog is a yr old and he only knows how to sit, jump, lay down, and shake hands. he also understands the word ‘no’ and wont eat a treat until i say ‘okay!’ i taught him all this myself with no help but i want to teach him more things and develop a deeper relationship with my dogs! your videos are very interesting and i love how yall get along so well :]

wow. it worked. i used sardines and my dog rolls over. shes a bit too old to do play dead, she can only lay on her side and do it.

  5. XxEmoTeddyBear says:

all my dog knows is sit, laydown, shake-a-paw (both paws), stay, jump, stand, sit pretty and bear hug. i’ve tried play dead and roll over with her, she can partly do the play dead but she dosnt like to stay down for very long =P

My dog only knows: Come, Stay, Sit, Lie Down,Pen(go to cage or go to bed), and Go Lay Down. I’m trying to get my dog to play dead, but everytime I try to teach him with the gun hand signal, he runs away. I’ll try the way you suggested and see how it works.

My 10 week old aussie (iv had him for 1 week) already knows sit, stay, lay, and leave it…this is my first Aussie i am sooo impressed with the speed and ease at which he learns. On thing though is he over submissive and i cant think of anything iv done to make him that way..,any ideas?

    Wazzup Dog!
Wenn i learnd Roll to my dog (Boxer) he didnt understand so i needed small steps to learn Roll!
So i first did, play death. Wenn he got the hang of it i started roll, from the play death position. I didnt touch the dog.. but hold a treat in such a way, in order for the dog to follow the treat he almost automaticly rolls!

Even my not-so-bright over-exited Boxer got it in notime!!!
(Sorry for the spelling.. If you want to complain: Please do it in DUTCH ;)

    2. @ what age should the “stay” be mastered? I feel like he doesn’t have the patience or attention span to fully grasp this. I have been working with him for a long time off and on, and it seems like the older he gets, the more he gets. He is a beagle and they are so stubborn. I have heard some people say that their dog didnt calm down enough for some tricks until they were 9-10 months. Is there any basis to this or are they just making excuses?

  20. luckbear87 says:

1: How do I get him calm when we are training? He gets so excited and he lunges at the treat or just starts doing whatever trick he can think of to get a treat. He does really well most of the time, but how to I stop him from lunging for the treat or getting all spastic.

  21. luckbear87 says:

My beagle puppy is 6 months old. he is doing pretty well with the training. He can sit, lay down, shake, hi-five, “kennel up”, and we are learning “take a bow”.
    My questions are

  22. cguk2012 says:

My bull terrier knows sit. sometimes. she is funny as hell and is really hard to train but I am getting there slowly haha

  23. smallville469 says:

how do you teach him to play dead on his back you showed us how to do it on his side.

  24. netgenie4 says:

How many commands? Both my dogs are working dogs and we have about 30 commands we use. About 7 are repeated when we are working. We enjoy watching your videos and are learning to limp currently so it will be 31 soon.

  25. Ball4184 says:

what if you did that so much he gets worn out and is actually dead =0
