my dog is 3 months old or younger maybe a little older i am not sure he knows sit and shake and sorta lay down
Somehow i’ve taught my dog to bark at homeless people, roadside workers, and drifters….it’s a pretty cool trick because i know when to lock my doors while driving.
I taught my 6 year old chow how to play hide and seek. It’s an easy trick to learn. Have your dog sit and stay and then place a treat or toy behind something such as a box, then say find. For the first time let the dog see where you place the treat then after that make harder so the dog has to search. You can also hide yourself and have your dog find you. If you are going to hid be sure to have a treat for motivation.
i tought my shitzu how to “sit pretty” she gets up on her hind legs and sits there for a treat.
to teach her all i did was say want a treat? then kept standing her up and saying the word sit pretty. once she does it i praise her like crazy and give her the treat. after a while she got what the word was and did it on her own.
she can also sit, lie down, come, roll over, and shake.
its not really a trick but it takes potty training to a whole new level lol my mums great dane lets himself outside to the toilet . has done since he was tall enough to reach the door handle . people thinks its cool when they see him walk thru the house and open the kitchen door go the toilet then let himself back in .
My dog plays the piano. It is an impressive trick and not very difficult to train if you have patience. Get a toddler piano and put it in the room with your dog. Tap a key periodically to let the dog know the item makes noise. Hopefully, your dog will be interested in the piano (but make sure he does understand it makes noise so it doesn’t frighten him). You can place treats on the piano and keys. Decide if you want the dog to hit the keys with a paw or nose. I did the paw. I would lift her paw and place it on the key. When the piano sounded, I would give a reward. I also said “touch” as I placed her paw. Eventually, I moved to a hand signal and just saying “touch”. She loves her piano and it is an impressive trick. This took under 2 weeks to train.
I stopped teaching tricks with my dogs and we started doing Rally Obedience. It’s a lot of fun and requires your dog to do some interesting new things.
Rally Obedience is also known as Rally O.
My Dane can wave, put her head in someones lap on command, bow, do a sit stay for 5 minutes lol
Just working on different little things
We got our dog to bark when we say ‘SPEAK’, i started by kind of barking and saying speak with a treat and sort of get a bit excited, eventually he does it from just saying speak with a treat, its quite funny to show people
Also BEG, he sits in a begging position, started that by getting him standing with me holding him up (helping), but then lowering him down into the position and saying ‘beg’, have the treat by his nose so he follows into the position eventually.
Umm also PAW and OTHER PAW
JUMP
ROUND is quite a cool one, make your dog follow a treat round in a circle saying ’round’ with practise he should do it with only a small circle gesture in the air with a treat.
Good luck if you try any with your dog
These are just ways how i taught my border terrier.
